Can you help?

What is the PTA? A PTA is a group of volunteer parents and teachers who work together to make their school a better environment for children to learn. They raise extra funds through a wide range of fun and creative initiatives, events, and much, much more.
They are also known as HSA, PA, PTFA, Friends of, or better still, Superheroes!
School funding has been reduced and squeezed over many years, so the fundraising efforts a PTA can generate are more vital than ever.
PTA members in England, Wales and Northern Ireland contribute an amazing £120 million to the education of our children and young people. That’s right — £120 million each year!
The average PTA raises £9,000 each year to pay for things that school budgets cannot stretch to.
We are very grateful for the work our previous team have started, but with the key volunteers stepping down, it is time to rejuvenate and re-build our volunteer army. As part of the school community we are all part of the PTA. Everyone can help in their own small way to make a big difference.
For more information about the work a PTA does or ideas for how you can contribute you can take a look at the Parentkind website: What is a PTA? | Parentkind
If you would like to be involved in organising any fundraising events, we would love to hear from you. Teachers will be collecting contact details at the Welcome sessions next week - or you can email the office directly: admin@andoversford.gloucs.sch.uk
We hope to arrange a gathering early this term to collect ideas and plan our approach for the upcoming year.
