Looking ahead to September 202427 June 2024 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head)) |
The end of the year is rapidly approaching and we are looking ahead to September. At this time of year, we are simultaneously wrapping up the current year with lots of events taking place – and getting organised for a new start in September.
At the end of August the leadership agreement with St Andrew’s will come to an end with Mrs Bradley-McKay. St Andrew’s are now in a secure place and are consulting to join the NCSF Multi-Academy Trust. From September, Mrs Bradley-McKay will be able to devote the full week to our school community once again.
September also brings some exciting new adventures for Miss Thomas. After 13 years supporting the Andoversford Community, she has secured a new role at Barnwood C of E Primary School. Miss Thomas is looking forward to the new challenges that a different type of school will bring and is excited to be working in a bigger school in the next phase of her career. We wish her all the very best for the future and I am sure you will join us in thanking Miss Thomas for her commitment to the school during her time with us.
Over the last few weeks, we have been busy with recruitment to finalise the teaching team for September. We will be joined by two new teachers, who have started their induction and are looking forward to becoming part of the school community. In September, the class structure will be:
Ash Class (YN and YR) taught by Mrs Warren and Mrs Jaworski. Miss Stec will continue to support the Early Years Team.
Oak Class (Y1 and Y2) taught by Miss David-Ward. Mrs Beaton and Mrs Luckett will also be supporting Key Stage 1 pupils.
Beech Class (Y3 and Y4) taught by Miss Packer. Mrs Luckett will provide some extra support in the mornings for Beech Class.
Willow Class (Y5 and Y6) taught by Mrs Fisher and Mrs Bradley-McKay. Mrs Bowers will also be providing any extra support for pupils across Key Stage 2 (Beech and Willow).
Mrs Beaton will be covering teacher’s planning release time across the school.
Next week, we are looking forward to the first transition session where children will get to spend some time with their new class and get to know each other, ready for a positive start in September.
As always, in September teachers will be sending out a welcome pack with all the key information for the new class, including timetables, PE Slots and homework. Keep an eye on the webpages for regular updates. You will also notice that the calendar for 2024-25 will start being populated over the next few weeks so that parents get as much notice as possible for key dates!
