In exactly 4 weeks’ time we will be celebrating World Book Day as a school! Today we are very excited to launch our annual competition, which is a great opportunity for children to reflect on the key elements of a favourite story. For 2024, the challenge is on to create a story jar. Your child can use any type of jar – even better for our sustainability ethos if it is recycled – to create their story jar. Decorate the inside and outside with characters or a scene from a story to be in with a chance of winning! Bring completed story jars into school on World Book Day and the judges will select a winner from each class!  

In school, we will have a day jam packed with activities linked to our focus author. This year we will be celebrating the work of Joseph Coelho, the Children’s Laureate for Waterstones!
