Andoversford Primary School is looking for 2 new Governors to join their Governing Board.

 Governors do not need prior experience in education as full training will be provided.  The role is perfect for anyone wanting to give back to society and enhance children’s futures.  It is also an ideal role for those seeking to improve their business or leadership skills,.  Find out more about Andoversford Primary School here

The role of the Governing Board:

• responsible for the school's strategic direction, including working with the Headteacher in setting aims for the school and agreeing policies, plans and targets for improvements to match these aims
• to support, monitor and evaluate the school's performance and challenge the Headteacher to account for the performance of the school
• determine how to spend the budget allocated to the school.

 We are looking for a Governor who:  

• is enthusiastic, willing to learn and a good team player 
• has a questioning mind and can analyse basic data (full training will be provided)
• can give around 5-8 hours of their time per month (term time only)

 Our Full Governing Body meetings usually take place 11 times a year either at Andoversford Primary School or online and last around 2 hours.  In addition to this, Governors are expected to prepare for meetings, undertake regular monitoring visits to school plus allocate time for their training.  The term of office for a Governor is usually 4 years.
