A message from the School Governors1 February 2024 (by Hayley Armstrong (admin)) |
Some of you will be aware that I am moving out of area shortly. For this reason, I have found it necessary to resign from the Governing Board.
I am pleased to let you know that Chris Ridgers has agreed to be temporary Chair of Governors from 1 February. Chris has been a Governor with Andoversford since July 2023. He was previously a governor of two other schools and has been Chairperson for a charity so is well qualified to take on the role.
Nicki Jarvis has agreed to be Vice Chair. The website will shortly be updated with these revised details shortly.
Also, there are some Governor vacancies that require filling. An advert will follow shortly which explains the role. Please share it with friends, family, neighbours, etc. If asked why become a school Governor, I can guarantee that you will learn so much - about the education system, local funding (or lack of it!!), why it is important that 4 year olds move around big building blocks (yes, there is a reason) – and the list goes on.
I feel privileged to have been a part of the school community for the last 3 years. It has been lovely to get to know so many lovely children, parents, and staff. I wish you all the best for the future.
Vanessa Gore
Co Chair
