Safe Space Scheme29 June 2023 (by Hayley Armstrong (admin)) |
Stagecoach Southwest have trained up all their bus drivers on the “Safe Space scheme” and are displaying the Safe Space stickers and posters on all their buses (approx. 400 vehicles).
This scheme supports Gloucestershire Police and Crime Prevention Plan under “Tackling Violence and Intimidation Against Women and Girls” and is a big step forward in rolling out this scheme across the whole of Gloucestershire.
Stagecoach have arranged with GFRS to use the Skillzone mini village as the launch location, mainly due to the fact they have a Stagecoach Bus, and it gives a real life feeling. The next location for the launch will be Cheltenham, followed by Cirencester with Tewkesbury hopefully following suit soon after.
Date for Launch: Thursday 13th July 2023 @ 12:30pm

About the Safe Space Scheme:
The Safe Space Scheme is a community of businesses that provide a safe and secure place for anyone to go to if they are being followed or feel under threat in any way. Wherever you see the Safe Space logo, you know that the business welcomes you in immediately, no questions asked until the threat has passed.
