Attend Today, Succeed Tomorrow!28 February 2023 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head)) |
Attendance is important! The following statements come from the Department for Education’s guidance surrounding school attendance:
Improving attendance is everyone’s business. This is essential for pupils to get the most out of their school experience, including their attainment, wellbeing, and wider life chances.
At Andoversford, we have high ambitions for all of our pupils and we want them to become successful individuals later in life. We recognise the importance of good attendance for this. You can find some extra information about on the Absence and Illness page of our website: https://www.andoversford.gloucs.sch.uk/parent-information/the-school-day-1
We are aware that absence due to illness is unavoidable, and a figure of 100% attendance is often unattainable. Since the end of the Covid pandemic, we have found that some children who are well enough to be in school are staying at home if they are a little under the weather or for other minor ailments. However, if there are other difficulties which are making attendance a challenge, do not hesitate to get in touch so that we can offer support.
