Maths News- Journaling in Maths16 January 2023 (by Ellie Gunnell (EGunnell)) |
During our Master the Maths and Fluency Fact lessons, we encourage the children to use journaling to help them to explore and explain different mathematical concepts by recording them in different ways. Across KS1 and KS2, children are encouraged to write themselves 'Top Tips', draw pictorial representations and even write instructions to help develop their use of mathematical language. The children take real pride in their maths books and enjoy taking ownership of what they produce. Head over to our maths page to see some examples of journaling in Oak, Beech and Willow class.
