Snow and Wintry Weather Update!
Arrival Information
On Tuesday 13th December 2022, the school will be open for pupils. However we will be open one hour later to ensure that everyone can travel safely in daylight hours, and allow us time to check the access paths in the morning. Pathways around the school site have been created to help us get around - please remind your child to follow paths only. We are expecting more low temperatures overnight so patches of ice may develop on untreated areas.
What to Wear
It is cold outside! Joggers or thermal leggings will be more suitable than polyester school trousers, shorts or skirts. A vest is also recommended underneath school T-shirts and jumper/hoody. We plan to enjoy the lovely fresh snow on the field at break time and lunchtime so please make sure sturdy boots or shoes which are suitable for the snow are worn to school tomorrow. Waterproof trousers or a snow suit would also be beneficial if you have them. If your child wishes to they can bring some slippers or pumps to change into for the classroom. They may be comfortable with a change of shoes for indoors.
Lunch
We have a slight challenge with the planned Christmas Lunch, which will now be postponed. Unfortunately, the hall heating is not working, which means we are unable to use the hall. The plumber is waiting for a part but the weather is causing an extra delay. On top of that, our catering team are uncertain whether they will be able to access us tomorrow. If they are able to get to us, a filled jacket potato will be the only option. Please send a packed lunch for your child if you are able to. If you need Caterlink to provide a jacket potato please let us know as early as possible so that we can help them make the arrangements. We will look forward to extending the Christmas period with a delicious Christmas Lunch with you all in January! Orders of adult and child lunches will be transferred to the new date. Details to follow.
Christmas Performance
Due to the disruption this week, we are making a change to the Christmas Performance. The playground will no longer be a suitable venue, nor the hall. We will therefore be creating a video with the children over the coming days so that they can showcase their talents. As we have not had our usual rehearsal, we hope this will give us the best option to show what we can do. This will be a lasting memento for you to look back on. The video will be shared with you later this week.
Thank you for your support and understanding during this week. It has not quite been the end of term we had planned, but we will do our very best to have an enjoyable few days as we head towards Christmas.
Take care on your way to school tomorrow and we look forward to seeing everyone in the morning.
