Woodwind Lessons8 September 2022 (by Hayley Armstrong (admin)) |
Does your child want to learn to play a woodwind instrument?
We have a peripatetic teacher, Miss Rosy Crocker who teaches Saxophone (Year 6 only), Clarinet and Flute (Y3-Y6). Rosy has spaces available to offer lessons to our pupils in school.
Pupils will receive 30 lessons in each academic year. Some terms have more lessons and some less to fit in with the longer and shorter terms and other changes in the timetable i.e. school trips, residential visits etc. Lessons will be £75 per pupil per 10 weeks. (£7.50 per week). Lessons will either be 30 minutes with up to a maximum of 3 pupils. Individual lessons will be 15 minutes – longer individual lessons are 30 minutes will be £150 per pupil per 10 weeks (£15.00 per week).
Fees are payable in advance. Invoices will be sent out at the start of each 10 week block. Payment will be expected within 2 weeks of the invoice being issued. Payment preferred by BACS but if this is not suitable, cheque or cash. Non payment will mean the pupil will not receive any further lessons until the fees are paid.
If pupils miss a lesson through school absence, the lesson cannot be rescheduled. If suitable notice is given by the school to cancel a visit (2 weeks minimum) lessons may be rescheduled, for instance because of a school trip or residential. Any lessons missed due to tutor absence will be rescheduled.
Pupils will need to provide a notebook and pencil to write down homework and to keep a record of practice. They will need to bring this to each lesson along with their instrument and music. All music books can be ordered through Rosy if needed.
If parents wish to withdraw the pupil from further lessons, a term’s notice in writing is requested.
If parents wish pupils to take external graded examinations, this can be discussed.
Instruments can be hired through Gloucestershire Music or Music shops. If you are wishing to buy an instrument, please email Rosy and she can advise on this matter.
