Digital Leader update18 February 2022 (by Megan Thomas (MThomas)) |
As we finish for half term, this is a reminder that any applications to be a Digital Leader will need to be sent to the school office via email by the first day back after half term (Monday 28th February).
At the moment, we have had lots of applications from Years 4-6, but none for EYFS-Year Three! It would be wonderful to have representatives from every year group, so that our Digital Leaders can share their expertise across the school, and are part of our school community for years to come.
If your child is interested in the role, they will need to apply for the position using some kind of technology- the more creative, the better! This could be a video, a poster, a Keynote/Powerpoint presentation, or anything else you can think of. They will need to let me know what skills they can bring to the role, and why they would like to do it.
As a reminder, Digital Leaders will:
> Be technological experts within their own class, who will be able to help their classmates to solve any problems and give them advice.
> Be on hand to help their teachers to share new digital skills with the class.
> Help staff to create digital content e.g. posters to advertise events, video montages to share class achievements or events.
> Assist adults in taking care of the technology e.g. putting iPads away safely and securely.
> Need to attend one meeting a month (during a lunchtime) and may need to give some more time to special assignments. During these meetings, they will have extra training- initially focusing on the iPads- to give them extra skills and try out new apps etc.
> Digital leaders do not already need to be experts, and do not even need to have an iPad/ tablet/ laptop at home! However, they do need to be enthusiastic, interested and committed to the role.
We look forward to seeing even more applications after half term! Children will be notified within the first week back if they have been successful.
