Covid-19 Updates4 February 2022 (by Rachel Bradley McKay (Head)) |
As you will know, last week, The Government announced that the country is now back following Plan A in the response to the ongoing global pandemic. In school, we had had many active Covid cases over the last few weeks, which has meant that the restrictions we have in place are more stringent than those out in general society. We are not alone in this. Many schools have seen challenges with rising case numbers following the Christmas holiday period. You will also know that all schools in Gloucestershire were asked to put in place additional measures by the Health Protection Team in the South West back in November. As a school, we have had to manage these additional restrictions alongside the usual busy activities that make up school life.
Thankfully, it does appear that the spread of coronavirus is slowing down in our local community. We hope to slowly reduce some of the additional measures we have had in place for the last 3 months. Over the next few weeks the Covid-19 Risk Assessment will be reviewed and evaluated on a weekly basis as we monitor the impact of these changes. Next week, we are very much looking forward to having assemblies in person again. It is such a great opportunity for the whole school to come together.
Please help us to keep everyone as safe as possible in school by continuing to take part in twice weekly LFD testing if you are able to, and by monitoring your child very closely for any signs of illness. It is especially important to make sure that quarantine periods are followed after any bout of sickness to stop viruses and bugs spreading around school. Children must not return to school after episodes of vomiting or diarrhoea for at least 48 hours since the last incident. We are currently seeing quite a few sickness bugs in the local community, so help us all to stay safe and healthy.
