Letter from the Governors17 December 2021 (by Hayley Armstrong (admin)) |
Dear Parents & Carers
Another term is drawing to a close and it is hard to know where the time has gone !
The Governing Board has continued to meet monthly on Zoom this term to carry out our responsibilities, set by the Department for Education, which are:
· Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
· Holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the effective and efficient performance management of staff; and
· Overseeing the financial performance of the organisation and making sure its money is well spent.
We will write to you again in the New Year to update you on our work to date and priorities for the next term and to introduce you to more members of our Governing Board.
However, for now, we are including a pen portrait of our longest serving Governor, Ruth Fulford:
I joined the Governing Board in 2013 having retired from a career in nursing at Cheltenham General Hospital. Living in the Andoversford area for the last 40 years, my 3 children all attended Andoversford Primary School. My youngest grandchild is a pupil at this school and my 3 older grandchildren all attend the Cotswold School. As a family we have always recognised the importance of good state education.
I am a lifelong runner and enjoy competing in road races and am a member of Cirencester Athletics club. I’m also a keen gardener, growing a lot of my own fruit and vegetables. Other pursuits include long walks in this beautiful countryside, travelling and generally socialising with family and friends.
We hope that you enjoyed our wonderful Christmas Service and will join with us to thank all the pupils, staff and Head Teacher for such an uplifting evening.
Wishing all our pupils and families a very Happy Christmas.
Best seasonal wishes
The Andoversford Governors
